Update on my Surgery

Yesterday morning I had surgery number 14 on my right ankle. Dr. Kirchner went in and removed my bone spurs and then removed my hardware. I no longer have screws in my ankle. It is a definite change. Over the past 3 years, I have been so used to telling people that I have them. It was a lot of work for the doctor to get them out. He had to chisel a lot of bone away to get the suckers. They were REALLY deep inside the bone which wasn’t good. Before my surgery, I was given a nerve block. This helped with the soreness. However, after 24 hours of feeling no pain it hit me like a ton of bricks. I don’t think I’ve ever been this sore! After popping pain killers, I am feeling a little bit better. Last night was rather interesting. I didn’t get any sleep because I couldn’t get comfortable. I slept some today, and I hope I can get some sleep tonight. Mom and Dad are going to leave me alone first thing in the morning. They are worried, but I have promised not to leave the bed until they get home. I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween. Thank you all for the support and prayers. It means a lot.
